The one-of-a-kind keyboardist Suzanne Ciani starts, on July 6, in Lorca, her new Spanish tour. I first became acquainted of Suzanne's artistry in the late 70s, through her impeccable synthesizer programming on such CTI albums as Yusef Lateef's "In A Temple Garden", Art Farmer/Joe Henderson's "Yama", Ray Barretto's "La Cuna" and, in 1980, on the first "Fuse One" all-star session produced by Creed Taylor and featuring Stanley Clarke as musical director. Then I got a copy of Suzanne's solo masterpiece "Seven Waves" and, although more new-age oriented than I expected, it was love at first sight.
