Jazz Museum's new executive director

The American Jazz Museum in Kansas City will have a new executive director, as Tracy Allen reports ( The Call, Kansas City ). The museum which was founded in 1997 will be directed by Gregory A. Carroll who had taught in leading positions at several American music departments and as a vibraphonist and bandleader shared the stage with musicians such as George Benson. Carroll wants to attract a broader audience to the museum which he sees in the tradition of Kansas City's historic 18th and Vine Jazz District.
