A delightful set of music, the dozen unaccompanied solos on this CD feature Jeff Linsky playing an Asturias requinto (three-quarter-sized Spanish guitar). A top exponent of Brazilian jazz and bossa novas, Linsky interprets tunes by Jobim, Bonfa, and Caymmi, plus two originals and such standards as "Autumn in New York," "Nature Boy," and "God Bless the Child." The melodic music is accessible and soothing, but also contains plenty of subtle surprises and understated invention by the talented guitarist. Recommended. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
