"On A Clear Bossa Day" - Dusty Groove

Mario Castro Neves & Samba SA -- On A Clear Bossa Day . . . CD . . . $19.99
JSR 6045/ distributed by Rambling Records (Gatefold) Condition: New Copy

A dreamy dreamy bossa gem from Mario Castro Neves & Samba SA -- a group we haven't heard from since the 60s! Mario's group has a sound that's a lot like the classic work of Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66 -- snapping bossa rhythms at the bottom, and two female voices on the top -- singing in a jazzy, breezy style that's really outta site! The lineup's changed a bit since the old days -- and one of the singers is the lovely Ithamara Koorax -- but the sound of the set is just like Mario's 60s work with the group, produced with a light jazzy flair that really brings out the best elements in the work. Titles include "Samba SA", "The Whole Mess", "Lilli", "Tokyo Waltz", "My Rio", "Helena & I", "Mara My Love", and "So Nice". (In a wonderful cardboard gatefold cover -- just like a tiny record album!)
