Cannonball Adderley with Sergio Mendes: "Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars" (Pickwick) 1965
Originally released in 1963 on the Riverside label as "Cannonball's Bossa Nova," it was recorded in New York, in December 1962, under the production of my dear friend Orrin Keepnews. Featuring Sergio Mendes' "Bossa Rio" sextet, which had performed at the famous Bossa Nova Concert at Carnegie Hall, the group includes Dom Um Romão, Octavio Bailly, Jr., Durval Ferreira, Pedro Paulo & Paulo Moura.
Highlights: "Minha Saudade," "Clouds," "Corcovado," "Sambop" and "Once I Loved."
