Curtis Henderson releases new CD

A SALUTE TO THE PHILY SOUND!
BRINGING BACK THE SWEET SMOOTH SOUL
OF THE ‘70s, ‘80s & ‘90s!

Beginning in 2007, singer/television executive and producer Curtis Henderson began collaborating with R&B producers Larry Woo and Gordon Worthy to begin work on his first CD, "Magic of the Night." Juggling a full-time job as General Manager of Boston Neighborhood Network by day and working into the wee hours of the morning in the studio, this stellar team completed eleven original tunes and three covers. Just released [February 15, 2009], the new CD combines some of Curt’s favorite funky influences of the ‘70s and ‘80s, mixed with some sweet, sweet soul to create a sound for today. Saxophonist Walter Beasley, guitarist Jeff Lockhart, saxophonist Andre Ward, keyboardist Frank Wilkins and vocalist Athene Wilson are featured on the new disc.

In sync with the release of "Magic of the Night," Henderson will appear at Scullers Jazz Club on Tuesday, March 24 at 8:00 pm. Tickets at $18.00 each can be purchased on line via www.ticketweb.com, at www.scullersjazz.com or by calling Scullers directly at 617-562-4111. For more information, call: 617-562-4111. Scullers is located on the second floor in the DoubleTree Guest Suites Boston [400 Soldiers Field Road, Allston]; the club is wheelchair accessible.

Boston’s best musicians will make Henderfson’s band at Scullers: Athene Wilson (guest vocalist), Joseph Davis, Jr. (drums), Anthony Grant (sax & keyboards), Edvard Lee & Ryan Brown (keyboards), Webster Roach (bass), Milton McCarthy (percussion), Wayne Jones (guitar) and the Jones sisters, Elise and Leslie, singing background vocals.
