WHO/WHAT:
Jamaican jazz pianist Monty Alexander brings together an ensemble of musicians from neighboring islands and cultures to celebrate the intersection of Caribbean music with jazz. The first half of the program will focus on Trinidadian calypso, while the second half of the program highlights Jamaican mento. Time Warner is the lead New York Sponsor of this performance.

World-renowned pianists Dave Brubeck and Ramsey Lewis, each accompanied by his own group, are featured on two separate halves of one inspiring and captivating show. This is Mr. Lewis’ first appearance at Jazz at Lincoln Center. This concert is dedicated to the memory of Joyce Wein.

Rags, Strides and Stomps: Jazz at Lincoln Center celebrates solo piano and the generations thereof featuring Marcus Roberts – a “genius of modern piano” – and Jonathan Batiste and Aaron Diehl, two rising stars. This concert highlights the stride piano and includes works by James P. Johnson, Willie “The Lion” Smith and Fats Waller.
