Once again greetings from super sunny Vienna!
Blazing rays the last days and timely with lots of public holidays in Austria around this time. Actually, apologies for this slightly delayed newsletter this week, another public holiday here in Austria last Monday, for what I have no idea but man oh man, those crazy Austrian’s sure do have their fair share of holidays. Just another great reason why I moved from the UK I guess. Big up all the United fans back home for their EPL title. Good luck to the ‘Gers tonight in Manchester and thanks to all that have shared a few football thoughts with me over the last weeks. I tell you, I’m really excited about the Euro2008 with or without the English, can’t wait, Vienna is going to be buzzing.Music is pretty damn hot too.
Lots of amazing music featured with the guys in the Soul office loading new content from new labels every day.We start with the one the best new labels in recent years. Not a totally new label, but a spin off from the Compost crew with their Black label series.
Compost black label series 3 has some amazing music going for it. WAV and MP3 and you can even download number 3 in both a mix form and full length audio for dance floor purpose. Excellent.I’ve been a big fan of the duo Frost & Wagner for many years now and I was really happy to see listed their collection of Remixes put together to form a sweet comp of 11 tracks for unsuspecting reggae and soul fans. Do check this out as it is a perfect partner to the sunny weather. Big up Daniel Best from bringing us the music via Sonar Kollektiv. Again we got WAV and MP3 for all digital freaks.
Big up the Innsbruck and Innvision massive, DJ Enne returns for more jazzy beats with Gambara / Mirror ball Included also very tasty Roland Schwarz remix. You might remember that name for a top Etage Noir release last year?I’m totally thrilled to see INFRACom! back musically with news too.
Dear friends from Frankfurt been on the down low for a few months but back with something very new in Mop Mop. Fans of Waldeck and Dope Noir might be very interested to check this release, especially the Nekta release. The Kiss of Kali EP is bright and breezy and containing all the right jazz moves. Nice!Lately Freerange has been making all the right moves too. House wise the guys have had a long string of successful releases. We are thrilled to have the label at the store and if you play out regularly, you’ll need some Freerange music for the floor no doubt. Palm skin productions and tracks from Magnetic north are excellent additions to your set. Right, that’s me for another week, time for a coffee and to check some sun. Hopefully next week we’ll be a day earlier with the news and more great music.
