R.I.P.: Campbell Burnap
Trombonist and jazz historian Campbell Burnap died of pancreatic cancer May 30th at the age of 68. Derby-born Burnap seriously took up the trombone after he emigrated to New Zealand in 1959. In 1965 he returned to England and played with bands such as those of Terry Lightfoot and Monty Sunshine. From 1980 he was a member of Acker Bilk's band for seven years, then had a regular jazz radio show. Obituary: Guardian.
