R.I.P.: Richard Cook
The British jazz critic Richard Cook died August 25th at the age of only 50 after a sudden recurrence of the cancer he was diagnosed with last year. Cook had been part of the editors' teams of the jazz journals The Wire and Jazz Review at times. Together with Brian Morton he had edited the comprehensive Penguin Guide to Jazz Recordings. He was the author of a book about the Blue Note label as well as of his own "Richard Cook's Jazz Companion". Obituary: NME .
