His 17-piece big band “is bringing a set of sounds that haven’t been heard before in an L.A. big band” (Rick Baptist) and “with utterly unique tonal personality.”(Kirk Silsbee). ACJO's debut "Shrimp Tale" album was named one of the best CDs in 2014 by the Jazz Critique Magazine in Japan, and was elected "Best Big Band CD of the Month" by Arnaldo DeSouteiro's Jazz Station blog.
