Frances Lynne

died Dec. 4, 2008, San Francisco/CA)
The singer Frances Lynne sang with Dave Brubeck and Paul Desmond in the late 1940s, then went on to sing with Charlie Barnet and Gene Krupa. In the 1950s she sang with the clarinetist Jerry Wald's orchestra whose saxophonist Al Cohn wrote vocal charts for her. Later she settled in San Francisco, sold cosmetics and from time to time sang in a local gay bar with a country & western band. Obituary: San Francisco Chronicle.
