On Mario Adnet's hands, always able to update the Brazilian music traditions, the sounds become poetry in form of songs; no matter if instrumental tunes or with lyrics (like happens only once on this new album, on "Valsa do Baque Virado", co-written by João Cavalcanti, the Casuarina man.)
Nine haunting originals and an amazing rendition of Duke Ellington/Juan Tizol's "Caravan" comprise the repertoire. For those not yet familiar with Adnet's skills as arranger, "Caravan" provides a small taste of his fertile imagination, taking that famous jazz classic to the "deserts" of Pernambuco (in Northern Brazil), evoking the Moacir Santos style that he knows so well.
