"Papudinho Especial!" (PAT/Paradise Masters) 1969/2007
The debut solo LP of the São Paulo-based (and Pernambuco-born) trumpeter José Lídio Cordeiro, better known as Papudinho, former member of Walter Wanderley's group.
Recorded in São Paulo in 1969, produced by Tibor Reisner for his short-lived PAT label.
Featuring Paulo D'Aquino (aka Chacáo on congas), Antonio Arruda (tenor sax & flute), Bruno Ferreira (guitar), José Carlos Nobrega (piano & organ), Newton Siquiera Campos (bass), Arrudinha (drums) and Mandrake (bongos), plus the vocals of twin singers Celma & Celia, who appear with him on the front cover.
Arranged by Papudinho, Antonio Arruda & Bruno Ferreira.
Includes "Ye-Me-Lê," "Wave," "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," "Love for Sale," "Segura Esse Samba Ogunhê" and Tibor Reisner's own "Sweet Love."
