Jazz Standard presents the sixth annual “Tango Meets Jazz” Festival featuring and directed by Pablo Ziegler. The pianist is an acclaimed master of this unique musical form and the creator (with Quique Sinesi and Walter Castro) of Buenos Aires Report, nominated for Best Tango Album in the ninth annual Latin Grammy Awards. “Ziegler plays straight from the beating, bleeding heart of nuevo tango, with its Argentinian mix of swagger and sweetness,” says The Guardian. “His tunes stay firmly within the tradition, with an urgent, finely tuned control of tension and release…” Special guests for this year’s “Tango Meet Jazz” Festival will be saxophone titan James Carter (12/5–12/6) and vibraphonist Joe Locke (12/7).

Music charge: $30
ALL SHOW TIMES: 7:30 & 9:30PM + 11:30PM ON FRIDAYS & SATURDAYS
