Aletra Hampton

The singer and pianist Aletra Hampton died in Indianapolis on November 12th after a long battle with cancer at the age of 92. She started her career as a youngster with the Hampton Sisters, a family band with which she performed from the 30s up until 2006. In the last years the band had been led by Aletra and her sister Virtue Hampton Whitted. Obituary: The Indianapolis Star.
