Single of the Day
Theo de Barros: "O Fim/Vim de Santana" (Chantecler C33-6203) 1966
A founding member of Trio Novo, that later became Quarteto Novo (with Hermeto Pascoal, Airto Moreira and Heraldo do Monte), the carioca composer/guitarist/bassist/singer Teófilo Augusto de Barros Neto (credited as "Théo" in the back cover) cut this rare single backed by the Orquestra Chanteceler arranged & conducted by Renato Mendes. "Vim de Santana" was also recorded on Quarteto Novo's one and only album ever.
