Bruce Forman & Cowbop featuring
Route 66 - One More Time

Internationally renowned guitarist Bruce Forman and his Western jazz band 'Cow Bop' are releasing their newest cd, "Route 66 on the Blujazz label," and once again performing across the entire length of Route 66 to raise awareness and funding for JazzMasters Workshop [JMW], a non-profit music mentoring program now in its eighth year of existence. "Route 66 - One More Time" marks the fifth ambitious tour and second cd Forman is making on behalf of JMW whose latest goal is to help raise funding for new programs for "at risk" kids.

After a "kick off" fund raising party co-hosted by Clint Eastwood in Carmel Valley CA, Cow Bop will start their "Route 66 - One More Time" tour in Chicago on May 12th and will be seeking per-mile pledges, corporate sponsorships and contributions to the organization's endowment along the way. Cow Bop is comprised of Pinto Pammy on vocals, Bruce Forman on guitar, Dan Robbins on bass and Mike McKinley on drums. Augmenting the band on their new release is Dan Hicks, Shelby Eicher, Rushad Eggleston, Monty Alexander, Bobby Phillips and Noel Jewkes.

"Route 66 - One More Time" will take Forman's mission of providing music mentoring for kids out of the studio and directly to the road through the heart of the country. In recognition of how music in the hands of children can transform lives, the Grateful Dead's Rex Foundation is awarding JMW with a $10,000 grant through the 'Jerry Garcia Award'.

Bruce Forman's guitar style has been an important part of the international jazz scene for more than two decades. He has been featured as leader as well as sideman at many of the most prestigious festivals and concert venues throughout the world. His numerous recording and performing credits include the likes of Bobby Hutcherson, Ray Brown, Freddie Hubbard, Joe Henderson, Barney Kessel, Richie Cole, and countless others. Known for swinging bop-style phrasing and inventive harmonizations, his ability to work in a variety of settings keeps him in constant demand. His guitar work is featured throughout Clint Eastwood's Academy Award winning film, Milion Dollar Baby.
