Singer’s Spotlight with Ann Hampton Callaway

Calling all culture heroes!

April 1st marks the deadline to raise the necessary funding needed for taping the first of four shows for an exciting new national public television series called "Singer’s Spotlight with Ann Hampton Callaway". This high definition state of the art series will celebrate the great singers and songs of The American Songbook. It is being produced by WTTW National Productions in Chicago on May 21st and our first guest is the dazzling two time Tony winner Christine Ebersole. We are thrilled and proud to be producing this one of a kind, never before seen series on public television.

Message from Ann Hampton Callaway:

As host of the series, I will be presenting our country’s finest singers and singer songwriters, both legends and exciting newcomers on the scene. Before a live audience, each guest will perform, talk about the highpoints of their careers and secrets of their craft as well as engage in some on the spot improvisational jamming with me, creating a lively and engaging celebration of the timeless classics of our nation.

In an age where more people vote for contestants on American Idol than for the next president, it is my mission to show music lovers what great singing is really all about. Another important goal of the series is to make the programs available to music teachers at the high school and college level. As I continue my touring schedule, I will participate in workshops on singing and songwriting at high school, college and public television outreach events. Everyone associated with this show is very committed to teaching future generations about the power and importance of music- especially the American Songbook.

I am asking you, my culture hero, to be one of the sponsors of this important series. WTTW has an annual Gala on May 21st and the first program in the series will be taped with the Gala audience. I want your presence at the Gala, and depending on the amount of your contribution, you can receive funding recognition at the beginning and/or end of each program of the television series. Our total budget is $2,000,000 for the four-part series. Combined with funds raised from the gala, our immediate April 1st goal is to raise the remaining $250,000 funds to tape the first high definition program on May 21. The remaining three programs in the series will be taped later in the year in the WTTW studios in Chicago.

Please look at the series proposal (click here to download our proposal) and see the sponsorship benefits below. Share this news with fellow culture heroes. To make cultural history and be one of the sponsors of this extraordinary series, call WTTW’s Customer Service line at 773-509-1111 extension 6. They will take your 501C3 contribution and award you a complete tax deduction and all benefits promised.

I look forward to seeing you on May 21st. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being one of the keepers of the flame. If we do not work to keep the legacy of our country’s great music alive for generations to come, who will?
