Doc Paulin

The trumpeter and bandleader Ernest 'Doc' Paulin died in New Orleans on November 20th at the age of 100. He participated in his hometown's music scene since the 1920s. For many decades the Doc Paulin Brass Band was one of the city's most popular bands. During the 1950s through the 1980s many young musicians were trained in that band, among them the clarinetist Michael White. Obituary: New Orleans Times-Picayune, Louisiana Weekly.
