Exactly a year ago, Diana Krall was at the Carnegie Hall to attend João Gilberto's solo concert at the JVC Jazz Festival, produced by George Wein. Now, unfortunately, the JVC Fest is over; but she is back to NY's most prestigious music hall for her own concerts, today and tomorrow, not coincidently with George Wein producing. As expected on this exhaustive marathon of 44 concerts in the US portion of the "Quiet Nights World Tour," after 20 concerts (in 30 days) in her native Canada, Krall will be performing songs mostly from her recents "Quiet Nights" CD (Verve) and "Live in Rio" (DVD), backed by her quartet and a 41-piece orchestra arranged by German genius Claus Ogerman & conducted by the LA-based New Zealand-born master Alan Broadbent.
