The "Five Trios" is, actually, a 6-CD box set. A fabulous one, indeed!

This "Five Trios" series brings Corea in unique trio combinations with: John Patitucci & Antonio Sanchez; Eddie Gomez & Jack DeJohnette; Christian McBride & Jeff Ballard; Eddie Gomez & Airto Moreira (on the superb "The Boston Three Party" already reviewed here); and Hadrien Feraud & Richie Barshay.

The first four sessions were released also as individual CDs, while the groundbreaking "Corea/Feraud/Barshay" disc is available only on this box set which contains detailed liner notes and exclusive pictures PLUS an additional bonus CD including previously unreleased tracks from the other five CDs. So, the only way to listen to "Gloria's Step" and "You're Everything" (with Airto & Gomez, from "The Boston Three Party" concert), "50% Manteca" (from "Dr. Joe" CD), and "Bud Powell", "Spain in the Main" and "Spain Drumdendum" (from "Chillin' in Chelan") is purchasing the 6-CD box set. It's worth the US$ 110,00 price.
