"What A Wonderful Bossa World" - Dusty Groove America
Anna Ly & Marcio Correia -- What A Wonderful Bossa World . . . CD . . . $16.99 (Item: 415857)
JSR/Sonhos & Sons (Brazil), 2006 Condition: New Copy
Gentle bossa from this youthful duet -- done in a spirit that really lives up to the title, and in a mode that has equal focus on 60s bossa modes from both Brazil and the US! Anna sings and plays a bit of bass as well, Marcio plays acoustic guitar throughout -- and the album features no other instrumentation behind the pair, just a spare and simple setting in which they work their craft. Tunes are both in English and Portuguese -- and include some nice bossa-fied versions of familiar American songs. Titles include "Ho Ba La La", "Till There Was You", "Days Of Wine & Roses", "What A Wonderful World", "Viva Sonhando", "Fotografia", "A Menina Danca", "Lamentos", and "Fly Me To The Moon". (From the Brazil CD (A-L) page.)
