Beantown Jazz Festival: September 27 (pre-festival party at the BeeHive), September 28 and 29 all over Boston.

Opening Night: A Celebration of Jazz and Joyce

A Concert to establish the Joyce Alexander Wein Scholarship Fund at Symphony Hall

Among the performers will be:
Herbie Hancock, Regina Carter, Kenny Werner, Lizz Wright, Branford Marsalis, Howard Alden, Joe Lovano, Jimmy Cobb, Geri Allen, Roy Haynes, Toshiko Akiyoshi & Lew Tabackin, Claudia Acuna and many others.

More names will be announced soon. The concert takes place at Symphony Hall at 7:30 p.m. Purchase tickets at the Symphony Hall box office or online at bso.org. Tickets: $40.00 to $100.00.

Saturday's line-up includes: Sean Jones, Charles Tolliver Big Band, Conrad Herwig, Bobby Hutcherson and Mike Stern, among others.
