R.I.P.: Steve Grossman

R.I.P.: Sax legend Steve Grossman, who played with Miles Davis (Jack Johnson, Black Beauty, Miles At Fillmore, Live Evil, Big Fun, Get Up With It plus countless unofficial releases), Elvin Jones (with whom he also recorded six albums from 1971 to 1976) and was a founding member of Stone Alliance along with Gene Perla and Don Alias.

Grossman also performed with Gil Evans, Michel Petrucciani, Johnny Griffin, Cedar Walton, Billy Higgins, Irio de Paula, Lenny White, Marcus Miller, Tom Harrell, McCoy Tyner, Chick Corea, Sammy Figueroa, Barry Finnerty, Marcio Montarroyos, Dom Um Romão, Weldon Irvine and many Japanese musicians such as Terumasa Hino, Masabumi Kikuchi, and Teruo Nakamura, among many others. He was 69 years old.
