Tracks from João Donato's aborted all-star project from 1976 will finally be released for the first time
Some never-before-released tracks cut by João Donato in 1976, for an aborted project destined to be the follow-up to the "Lugar Comum" album, will finally see the light of the day later this year, included in a 3-CD box set consisting of Donato's unreleased recordings being prepared by the Discobertas label. The "Prossiga" sessions took place at the then brand-new Philips' studios in Barra da Tijuca (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) and featured such musicians as Luiz Bonfa - playing Ovation guitar and also singing -, bassist Novelli, and guitarist Nelson Angelo (all contributed striking originals), plus Maria Helena Toledo and Alaide Costa on vocals, among several other guests.
