NPR's Patrick Jarenwattananon applauded festival producer George Wein and CareFusion for their unique approach of sponsoring affordable and accessible existing programs and institutions all over NYC. “Festivals are fun, schools are important and concert halls can be magnificent... but the magic of the club/bar/whatever sort of gig —the intimacy, the casual atmosphere, the sound, the musicians workshopping, the fortuitous guest appearance... all that is the huge part of why most of us generally love jazz."
