R.I.P.: Jazz Journal International

Sadly, the February issue of Jazz Journal International, out this weekend, will be the last edition of the magazine. "JJI is closing down following the death of Janet Cook (Associate Publisher) last January 23. Publisher & Editor-in-Chief Eddie Cook has beens seriously ill for some years and quite clearly unable to continue alone. End of an era, I suppose," states the renowned jazz historian Bruce Crowther, a regular contributor to Jazz Journal for several years. The magazine was about to enter its 63rd year.
