Two Generations of Duo Tones
The Allen Room – January 9-10, 2009

Dubbed ‘The Maestro’ by his peers, Mr. Walton is an influential musician whose career has included performances with John Coltrane on his 1959 ‘Giant Steps’ sessions, as well as with Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers alongside Freddie Hubbard and Wayne Shorter. His younger companion in this series, Mr. Hargrove has honed his chops with Oscar Peterson, Herbie Hancock and Sonny Rollins, among others.
