Celebrated pianist and composer Randy Weston (whose only date for CTI, "Blue Moses", is one of my favorite albums) has been at the forefront of musical innovation for over six decades in the integration of African and jazz music. Join Weston and moderator Dr. Lewis Porter for a conversation that traverses Brooklyn, Marrakech and the whole world of jazz in between.

Not available on compact-disc in the USA, Randy Weston's "Blue Moses" masterpiece was originally reissued on CD in Japan back in 2000. Featuring superb Don Sebesky arrangements with Randy on the Fender Rhodes, plus great performances by Freddie Hubbard (specially in the opening track "Ifrane"), Hubert Laws, Ron Carter, Billy Cobham, Airto, Azzedin Weston (Randy's son, a gifted percussionist), Warren Covington, and Grover Washington, Jr. among many others, it can be ordered through HMV.
