  2. Two completely different versions. I prefer the King version, because, like in all other Japanese CD issues of the CTI catalogue, the original Rudy Van Gelder mix was used, preserving the same "sound conception" of the original LP.

    The U.S. reissues released in the late 80s by CBS Associated and Mastersound (the 24-karat Gold disc edition) were remixed from the 16-track analog tapes by engineers Frank Decker (who also did the mastering for that ZK 40685 CBS Associated issue) and Mark Wilder (the ZK 64768 Mastersound CD, remastered by Thomas Ruff at Sony Music Studios in NY.) Both dramatically changed the original Van Gelder mix concept. Cheers!

  3. Wow, I would love to hear it! Unfortunately, it is very hard to find a King version of this classic. Personnaly, I prefer the CBS version over the mastersound.
