Jazz fights in Spain: Oviedo Jazz Festival
The fourth Oviedo Jazz Festival in Spain was cancelled by the city's newly elected mayor, because he is fighting noise ( Typically Spanish ). Among the musicians booked were John Mayall, Bill Wyman, Javier Vargas, Ramsey Lewis (pictured above), Donna Hightower, and Chano Domínguez. The city did not just cancel the open air concerts but also those concerts planed to be held at the Prince Felipe Auditorium, as the opposition party, the festival organizers and the artists criticize. Only the local San Matteo Fiestas will be tolerated by the city, the mayor declared, all other night-time events in the city have been cancelled until further notice.
