On the Road with Jim Cullum
Pictured above:
The Jim Cullum Jazz Band in front of the Philharmonic Hall in Perm, Russia, southeast of Moscow at the base of the Ural Mountains on the border between Europe and Asia. The sign says "Amerikanski Dixieland."
The Jim Cullum Jazz Band is back from their tour of Russia April 4—21. By means of planes, trains and automobiles, they traveled from Moscow to eastern Sibera and back west to the Baltic Sea, covering 7 time zones in 17 days.
Jim has collected his thoughts during the travel in a series of blogs which we plan to send to you, along with selected photos, via email. Watch for them in your inbox in the next few weeks.
Jim writes, "The Russian tour was for me a highlight of such magnitude, that a lot of this crazy life as a jazz musician seems, for the moment, very well justified."
