Message from David Berger
Hey everybody! We are doing a battle of the bands with Joe
Battaglia's New York Band at Columbus 72, this upcoming Wednesday.
Columbus 72 is on Columbus Ave. between 71st and 72nd St. We'll be
playing from 8 to 11. Admission is $10. Swing dancers a must!
We will be returning to Birdland on May 1st. In addition to our
vocalist Champian Fulton, Aria Hendricks will be joining us for a few
weeks in May, as will her illustrious father - Jazz Legend Jon
Hendricks. You won't want to miss that. Sets are on Tuesdays at 9 &
11 PM. www.birdlandjazz.com
Some upcoming exciting gigs -
June 19 - Midsummer Night Swing, Battle of the Bands with George Gee.
Located in the plaza at Lincoln Center, this event normally draws
6,000 people, so it is a very exciting event for dancers as well as
listeners. 7 -10 PM. Free to the public, dance floor is $14.
We will also be playing a Swing Dance event on August 12 on Pier 54
(just south of 14th St.), from 7 - 10 PM. Free to the public.
Also, we are presently preparing a new CD for Champian. It will be
coming out in September, so you'll definitely want to check that out.
Champian is a real Jazz singer.
We are working on a fall tour to Europe, after the CD is released.
Hope to see you soon!
Ever Onward & Upward
